Rivers Cuomo is Now Selling 2,655 Unreleased Weezer Demos Online

Weezer fans might not have Van Weezer under the tree this year, but they’ve just received arguably the greatest gift any fan could ask for: Rivers Cuomo has just put a staggering 2,655 unreleased demos up for sale online.

The online marketplace—a final project for a web programming class Cuomo is taking—categorizes the tracks by year into $9 bundles, each titled after his previous Alone solo demo releases. There’s a two-and-a-half hour compilation of material from the Blue Album and Pinkerton, a section of pre-Weezer tracks that go all the way back to when Cuomo was 6(!), and a whopping 38-hour album of stuff recorded during the gap between Hurley and Everything Will Be Alright in the End.

Cuomo, clearly aware of the massive amount of music he’s let loose on the internet, added this on the website:

For any demo:

It might have silence.
It might be wildly inappropriate.
It might have super low sound quality.
It might just be me rambling, talking, making sounds.
It may have already been shared or leaked.
It might be just a drum beat. it might not have vocals.
It might be a duplicate of another demo.
It might be an inferior version of another demo.
The information provided, such as year and description, might be incorrect.
Also, over time, the contents of each bundle in the market might change.
Or the metadata for a file might change.
